Quoted that an Expert judgment is used by the project management team to monitor and control project work is viable tool in making sure that the project we are working is of big chance of possibility. This means that we as the project manager has the opportunity of making it as possible and as achievable as we can. Why? It is because of the fact that acquiring the concept of expert judgment we would be able to apply the things needed for the development of the project and in helping it perform its administrative and some sort of vital procedures.

Now being asked of what is the best tool use in expert judgment, there is just one thing that puffs up my mind and it is the idea of having a conference or an elite forum. As it is being stated that expert judgment helps in assessing the inputs needed for the project to become successful, it is very much important to talk everything first with the presence of the consultants, stakeholders which also includes the customers and the sponsors, and also some professionals in the field or in the industry of big projects. Since this method is being connected with the term expert, for me it is just justifiable if it will also comprise of the experts. When we say that it is a conference of the experts, it somehow say or shall I say the it is definitely referring to people that are well trained, with specialized knowledge about the business or project. In short he or she should be very fitting to the word expert.

On the above paragraph, it is being stated the importance of having the presence of the stakeholders, the knowledge about the project, the act of being expert and the ability to draw essential and functional conclusions. By this time, let us discuss each of this factors that make up a meaningful conference for an expert judgment. Let together try to discover how this factors work out and produce a purposeful conclusion.

First in line is the existence and the presence of the stakeholders. As I have the chance of scanning the Project Management book, I saw it there some of the reasons of why Project management uses stakeholders in expert judgment. Since it is the risk of the stakeholder if the project does not work out well, it is very much essential to note that they have the ability and the power to control and approve the requested changes that I or we wish to apply. I should say that it is not only good for the stake holders to exist but I also believe that it is also important to have the note of the members of each of the project team as well. Now, why? T is because in the very first place it is the stakeholders or the project team’s responsibility to think and to apply the specifications of expert judgment. It is us, who thinks and produce ideas whether to apply a certain change or not, to continue this proposal or not or either to pursue the project or not. I could still remember that in every movie or drama series that I already saw, in every scene that a certain company has something to do and has something to deal about, there would always be that board of directors or a set of people that talks about the matter and rightfully decide on it. Just like the examples in different drama series, I should say that it is a protocol and is already standard in a business venture. Its just that we need to have a board members that are logical rather than those who possess radical form of thinking. In this way, I believe that it will work out and will succeed. However, again I say that we would not be able to accomplish everything if we are to defy the norms of nature. Now, what are this things that I am talking. These are things that we as human should do. Of course, even if we have this ability to think logically, we should act in accordance of the goodness of nature in order to attain the unity of the board thus achieving its whole success.

Second thing talks about knowledge. Definitely, it is very much difficult to draw any conclusion if in the very first place we as the one who will do this do not have any knowledge about the matter. If in case having this scenario, I already assume that it will just only cause a mess and is just a waste of time. If we are to consider the absence of knowledge in making a decision, then gain I know that the changes will be never ending and achieving its goal will be coming far far away. As we all know that the awareness and understanding of the whole concept of the project is indeed essential. That is why, it a need to get ourselves involved and make way for our own learning.

Also, included to all of this is the act of being smart and elite. Again, it is us, as the stakeholders who can think and who can draw generalization. Therefore saying that we should be an expert of our own and know the where about of the project. In this way, we can come up a very good conference or gathering of knowledgeable people about the project and this I guess is the very good and is the best tool in expert judgment.

As I am going to repeat that taking a professional judgment is important, I just also want to share that this happens not just only good for the the development of the project but as well as also in developing our own ability in judging. In this way, we worked logically and we let our brains function with a lot of thinking and reasoning. With regards to it, we did just work for the good of the project but as well as also in helping ourselves to be trained and well educated in granting a judgment not just only in papers but also in life.

Who’s good for maintenance and who’s not?

I personally don’t like to find myself maintaining on something. I definitely don’t want to figure it out especially if the thing is not to be maintained. For me it just make me feel like I am not that an effective person in achieving the real goal of what I am trying to accomplish. An example of which is when I became one of the Student Government Council during my high school days. In my personal experience, the service that I really want to give is true and clean. I just don’t know but the devotion that I have in serving the studentry over flourishing making me not to contain it anymore. I should rather say that it was not just only good for the first year of my service. It was also the same thing happened in my succeeding years of service. But the there is this one thing that changes, the projects which we organize and formulated for the good of our fellow students seems like devaluating. I could not say the exact words of describing it but, it seem like the passion and happiness of doing the project is totally vanished. So it also means that the quality of our offered services is already not of good value as before. I could still remember that if ever we will have our sessions what we always keep in mind is to keep track of last years report and eventually copy the same thing which we had, maintained it and eventually had came up not maintaining it but worst, failed it. As we go along what we had in mind is that it is somehow a burden and just a routine to go further. A simple this and that yet approaches to be like boring and tiring.

This I guess is the difference between the work and the project. The other refers to a cycle and a routine while the other one acts as temporary making it more vulnerable to changes and development. In this manner everything is just flowing and and continues to grow. In the Project Management, project is being defined as temporary endeavor undertaken to create a product, services, or result. So it does only means that having a project is an endeavor in order to produce a better and advance products. Work on the other hand also has its own unique definition and description. But the again, before we go along with the discussion, I believe that it would be better if we discussed it one by one, little by little.

Do you want to have work?

Who are looking for job vacancies? Who are those people who want to render a work? For so long now, it had been for a couple of months that we had been instructed to be an employer not as as employee. When ask about the question above, who would not want this right? To have a work is to have a living and nurture a family. But, we are to compare work to project. In the first paragraph, I had stated it there that in becoming a leader in a student council, thinking for a new project that will surely boom needs a lot of brains. It needed it that much since in the kind of project that a person or a group of individual who will use this must be well considerate of all the things that are needed to be considered. Basing again on my personal experience as a student leader, in accepting and thinking that what you are doing is a work, then most preferably, we will feel heavy and tired already. In thinking it as something that is just only to be accomplished since it has already the basic and normal routines that is being kept on and on.

Applause for Project

Now, another thing is said to be happening in each of our lives now is the gift of peace and freedom. We have given the opportunity to change and alter the things and norms that are already set in default. I believe that through the project, every one should now be careful and loving towards others. At this moment, may I now ask what are examples or few of the facts that makes up the characteristic of a project? Again as I was saying that project is just temporary and will always be changing. I could still remember that during our discussion in project management, it is being stressed the very simple and exact definition of what a real project is; it is temporary and is just partial. Basin on the Project management book of knowledge, temporary, means that every project has  a definite beginning and a definite end. But again even though it is being stated as definite still it has to undergone some sort of changes along the making and implementation of the project. Another characteristic of a project is to have a unique product, services or results. As we can see, there are still individuals who would love to change for the future.

The difference between the two may seem to be vague. I should say that it comprises a wide variation and that what we can do is just apply unto which concept he or she will will acquire.

Now, if it ask me, is it suitable for me? Is it just for the project alone? But, I was wrong. Generally it teaches each person. It teaches us the important points in becoming who we are and that we should also be aware of this. As we all know, Project management consist of different works that has to be done. Included with it is the scope description, time management, cost management, quality management, human resource communications management and as well as both the risk and procurement management. I can say that it is relevant to me I  a sense that in my life, I too have to deal with tine management. It should since it is all the same thing that we have and that the efficiency of the project that we have depends on the character that we possess. Time is very much valuable so that applying the concept of time management is important is indeed vital. Another factor talks more about the quality management. I don’t know if it would still connect to the kind of topic that we have but, quality management is really vital. In business, what if the work and the processing is fast but the quality of the product is being compromise? We know that at the end of it, it will just only us who will be get affected. Now, in me I could still say that it is relevant due to the fact that I have a love language of quality time. It is in this part where I came to a point of realization where through this, you could help in letting the bond strong and tight. Another thing that best aligned to quality management is the communications management. In me, how could I become part of a quality management team if in case I don’t know the things which are happening in the business? As well as life, how could I not be able to spend time chatting with a friend if in the very first place I don’t know how to speak and communicate with them? It is just like going into a battle where we do not have any armor to defend ourselves. And, the last factor or element which I though that I can relate to myself is that about the topic of accepting Risk. Yes, risk management. Such a team that would be included in this is surely of serene and calm personality. I believe that through this; in applying the concepts of risk management, we could be able to deal life in its smooth and peaceful way.

To sum it all, I would like to say it again that between project and work the difference comes only in one thing, and it is the capability of project to keep on changing for the enhancement of its own desired goal. Even though we can say that even a project has its objectives to follow, but then it is the good thing in project to have its modification and alteration which is also guided by their own objective. To justify this, may I all remind you that there is what we termed as Request changes in a project. I assume that it can enter in each of the templates that consists the project. Compared to work which I guess that can’t be altered because it is already designed and that its concepts and to do’s are so structured and keeps on repeating. That is, its model and the task is already built in. An example of this is the work of the doctor. They are designed to cure diseases and restore to health of their patients.

However there is still one thing that I see them in mutual and it is the virtue of making importance on the thing you are working for. It might sound rhetorical in my side, but then again I should say that even if they have this difference I always believe that there is still that common thing between them. Even though how static and how dynamic this certain concept is, it would still be of no sense and still would not succeed f not abided with passion and loving our own effort.

Death of Consumers: Is it possible?

What? Death. Consumers. What does it mean? Are they talking about the end? Is it already end of the world? Why talk about the death of consumers. It is us. Its you. It is me. It consist everyone of us. We are living in this world where a natural economy arises and that we are to act to be responsible as a consumer. Death as in death? Oh, you or shall I say that I must be kidding.

Well, as everyone can noticed, its just a matter of having a shallow view when it talks about consumers. There is more to it. Better than it! But before saying and writing about my understanding with regards to the death of consumers, let us first define it.

Consumer is defined to be that someone who could patronize and refers to those groups of people who could be the buyers or the potentials stakeholders. On our own equivalent, we in our personal lives act as a consumer. More preferably it could be happening in our daily living and survivability.

There was once when I, together with my mama got into the market and had chance of battling with the vendors with regards to lowering the price. If nobody may object, included in the market is the place where almost every people may love to spend their money wisely. In the market or in any other places (as long as the price can be lowered) we usually stand as a consumer. Of course of what is placed in the vendor, it is only that same thing that we tend to buy and sometimes sacrificed. All of us know that we are living in a world where survivability is really a need. If we would not be able to survive, then we are dead. Now, back to my own experience, in the market, it is being assumed that every people (maybe in the early period) is just satisfied and be contented of what is being served. We ask what is this and what’s that then, okay go, fight and pay. I know that we are not rich and I did not grow fed with a gold spoon. But, I am really shy talking with the vendor operator. For me its somehow shameful since they had invested in this kind of business then we are juts to make it as free and nothing at all. But, as we go along there had been a lot of changes that has been made and will always be changing.

It is not just only our characters have the ability to change. It is not only our attitude towards ourselves neither only good for our community but I believe that it is only inevitable in each of our lives in the aspect of economy. We live in each of our own society so it naturally includes our economic stand since we live as a consumer. But, I should say that nowadays, everything has been altered may be because of the advancement of technology. It is not only the machine that changes but as well as the people who uses and is the one responsible for the creation of these inventions. I believe that even a very single and little inventions has its own meaning and reason of why it has been made. Basically it has been made also because of the reflection of the people who may be using it the personal interpretation of the inventor to his invention. It’s a quite confusing statement, but I’ll just leave you with that confusion until we will both figure out what I am pointing in the succeeding paragraphs.

Consumer vs Prosumer

Now, before going deeper, I believe that it would be better if we are to discuss and differentiate first of what customer is and what prosumer is. In this way we would have a better understanding about the death of consumer and is there a certain thing that replaces it and if there is, what could that thing be. I suppose that it could be possibly better and nicer. Of course it should be since it replaces the old thing which we believe that is perfect and true. No wonder why consumer has to be replaced. But with regards to the qualities if what replaces it, I would like to share as you continue on reading. But as for now on the very first place let us discuss consumer.

Consumer

(Applause) J I like it when he say “He is not an interruption to our work, he is the purpose of it”. Indeed. With out the existence of the consumer the market would have been a failure. With out the presence of the consumer the economy may collapse it is because of the fact that we as consumer or as a costumer is responsible for acquiring the goods and services offered. This has been the function of the customer or the consumer for several years. Now let us see its other side. Together let us examine and discover its positive and negative sides. Let us scrutinize its flaws of why is there a need of changing this and adopt a new set of thinking. I fit was already the best, then it could not have been done this way and go as far as hanging it. I could just relate it to one of our class discussion in Technopreneurship II. As we have our discussion and as we went on the interaction of each of the student, there is this single phrase that is being repeated again and again; it is “to make the world a better place”. I don’t know but I guess in 5 consecutives sharing of ideas it is being stated on and on. It is then that I realized that each of the individual aspires and aims nothing but only to help make the world a better place. Why not right? Through this goal it can help of course not only the world but most significantly the person which consist the totality of the world and as far as we are concern, we all know that in aiming and to aspire for more, it needed a hard work and perseverance. Most especially, in wanting for more, in wanting for development, change is needed. Definitely it is a change for the better and not for the worst. It is for the better for it to be called and have the justification of why adapt the change and leave the other  lived idea. We all know that in a life, risk are to be taken to improve and to continue surviving and winning the uncertainties and adversities in life. In each of these changes, we also have to be responsible for making this change. If not us, who made the change, who? Thereby stating that we as human should know first of what is needed and what is not. If we would not be able to do such thing, then it could be sorry for us. Although we can again create and make another change but again let us bare in mind that having and making a change is not as easy as one can imagine. Taking a reset of anything that had done in a not so well ending is such a difficult task to do. I know that thinking about it is easy but in reality its not. Just like life, business also has the same blueprint. In becoming a human who happen to exist in this world, then we have to do all of those practices and as a technopreneur in the world of technopreneurship, we are also to adapt the same concept. Let us just see life as a business and let us just try to put ourselves as a technopreneur. The things that I have been sharing and letting you read are just few of the facts which I know about the concept of changing. Now how may I relate it to the death of consumer? Simple. It is because consumer has been replaced or shall I make it renewed by a new thought. We all know that anything in this worls may it be concrete or abstract is subject for changes and the concept of consumer is not excluded to that fact. It is still, and it is very much vital to change it. We know this and again it is for the betterment.

Again, may I ask a question? What does the concept of consumer does not have that the prosumer has? Or shall I ask what is in the consumer that needs to be eradicated for it to have equal value with the concept of prosumer? Well I guess, this would be a very though question for me to understand and answer.

CONSUMER. Again during our class discussion, we had a short sharing with regards on the difference of consumer to prosumer. As being defined, they refer to those individual who buys products or services for personal use and not for manufacture or resale. A consumer is someone who can make the decision whether or not to purchase an item at the store, and someone who can be influenced by marketing and advertisements. Any time someone goes to a store and purchases a toy, shirt, beverage, or anything else, they are making that decision as a consumer. In addition, Consumer is a broad label for any individuals or households that use goods and services generated within the economy. It being termed there, “used” goods and services. Seeing this definition, we then realized that it is the consumer who are just to consume the product being offered. Meaning, it is just as simple as that and it also says that as a consumer, the production and wanting to customize something from the product would just be given credit in the business man only or the entrepreneur. Then after that we discussed first of how the era of economy evolved. In one of the lecture slides that we had, it had it there the explanation. It started with the agricultural era, to mid agricultural until reaching the technological era. I am not so sure with the evolution of each of the generation but there is one thing that I am sure; our generation now would not have been like this if not because of the baseline foundation coming from the past. A saying says that Past is past. Okay, let us leave it like that but let us not forget the things and theory that we used as a model for our own implementation today. Again, I also want to share a thought which I had just came up in my mind. I had formulated it since I can relate to it and I pretty well know that there could have been a lot  more scenarios and examples that we can relate out from; and my saying goes like this: “Living in the past wont make you love the future. ” If there are those people who are against me with regards to it formulation, I don’t know but I just had it my mind. I don’t know if there already exist like this. (Just want to make sure). Yes, I believe in that saying. Definitely living in the past would really not make you love the future. In this sense it seems like you are dreaming but it is backwards. Funny, but how could you feel like dreaming if your basis is the past and opted to live it rather than leave it? If it is on that case, then I should say that it is futile and of no use. Just like in our own innovation, we must also dream and change for the advancement of the future.

As for observation, we always intend to change the technology and the different ideas that could we use in order to achieve this change and I bet there is one thing that is missing. It is not only the technology that should change, but as well as the technologist. It is not just only the inventions that must be modified but it must be as well as the inventors and it should not also be only the products and services offered that must be revolutionized but it could be the transformation is as vital for the customers or the consumer. Change in order to sustain.

Prosumer

In a first glance, I should say that prosumer is a compound word. Compound is it naturally means to say that it is being made up two important words. As I go along the internet I found some few facts that lead me verify this hypothesis. According to this website, which features The Rise of the Prosumer, it stated that the word is a combination of producer and consumer that perfectly describe the millions of participants in the Web 2.0 revolution. Basing on this definition, I was being struck in the words producer and consumer. It is then we can say that prosumer is a producer with consumer. Inclined with the above statement, it is to be said that the death of consumer reflects on the birth of prosumer. Again and again it is being stated few of the reasons of why consumer has to acquire its end. Once more, let us be reminded that consumer are those individual who can make the decision whether or not to purchase an item at the store, and someone who can be influenced by marketing and advertisements. In the above statement the term “used” is being noticed and we had made meaning. Now, by this time what we are going to observe is the key word which is influenced. In the context of the consumer, what the usual person does is just accept the thing which is already served. They need not to complain and say anything for the good of the service. As it may say that eve though it has the decision whether to purchase the product or not, still it has the big chance of making them be influenced by the manufacturer. Now, seeing it in the prosumer’s view, things may clearly not the same. If in the consumer’s side everything is just simple and shallow, then its not in the case of prosumer. In the prosumer’s view, we have the power and the ability to demand and customized the product in which way we wanted. In the previous statement, it says that prosumer consist of the words producer and consumer. Now lets talk first about producer. Since it is now the dynamic view of purchasing and buying the economy, we as a person can now participate in the kind of production a manufacturer may produce. In this way it could benefit both parties thus saying that in this manner, it is not only the producer would like the product but as well as the maker in making their manufactured goods as good as their costumers may like it. Again let me reiterate it that it is through the concept of prosumer that we can best have our desired services.

I had stated it already that applying the concept of prosumer is one way of making the economy grow dynamically. In our previous computer subjects, we were able to meet web 2.0 where it teaches us to build and create not just only a web which contains information and data but as well as in letting the user have it actively. Like this, prosumer has the same perception. It allows the user; which is us to become self-motivated and use our own way of possessing our own things. It let us discover our own way of thinking and that they; as the manufacturer does only the things which can help us more. Since we live in this generation where anything and everything has to have his or her own way of surviving, then it is a need to have your own identity in implementing this. This is the reason why I believe that having the concept of prosumer would really make a difference compared to the static view coming from the consumer. As the technology continues to grow and persists on developing for the good of the future, then it should be that the inventors as well as the persons involved should also change dynamically. I could still remember that in graphs we have different kind of relationship and it depends on the factors involved. In this case, we have the factors such as the technology, the inventors and the users, should be directly proportional. Of course we had understand it well that important events are believe to be more special and effective if all elements will coincide; and this includes all which we can see the the model presented by the prosumer. As they may say, it is the professional way of demanding and stipulating to generate better products.

Change for the better and not for the worst. Through this key, nothing is unattainable and everything seems to be near to realization. I basically does not know if how many times did I ever mentioned this but then again, once more I believe that it should not be considered as the death of the consumer because if it is to be termed and called like it, it seems like we already do not have the ability and capability of deciding and in making up our own way of thinking. It is termed as death so it could be understood that it is already gone. This is just only in my own interpretation and I have nothing to do with. However, in some other point, I would likely again to stressed out that the termed death of the consumer lead to the birth of the prosumer. For me it is such a good thing to note that in every year the changes and the improvement seems to go on as fast as it could be possible. I admit that I really does not know much about the concept of prosumer. As of now, it is not a new word, but it’s a word that will become the norm in the coming years. For the following years it could be now use as a standard in attaining their goal and mission. In fact the internet shows some samples and one of this is already being used by companies such as Sony to describe users of video cameras.

Is project management the best way of implementing changes?

When you are to undergo some changes, what would you normally do? If we are to encounter some sort of alteration, what would you think and how would you react? Is there some ways and procedures of how it will be processed? Is there some other way in dealing with these changes? During our high school days we were frequently asked by and told about the changes that we are to face when we reach college and definitely as a neophyte in the battle of college life, I guess it would be of less honesty if I would not say that I am very much affected of the alteration that I had observed and the different modification of the kind of environment I am in. It is college. It is a new beginning. For me it just like a new project to be deal with, a new project to be processed, to be achieved and to allow changes.

If you could just notice, (I had just noticed it also) that in every exercise, I always ended up relating it to my real life applications and experiences in life. I just can’t get rid of it because it is just me and that I am seeing my life as a project and seeing myself as a project manager. Well, you (as my reader) may say that I am such a melancholic person. Yes, you can call me one but just don’t forget about yourself.

Now, getting it back to the topic. Let us try to discuss it one by one.

Project management is best defined as a temporary venture to accomplish and to be achieved. Thus thereby stating that since it is temporary; it is subject for changes and modifications. For the past few days of our class interaction, we had a rigid discussion on how and on what do we do on Project Management. From the very first reporter until reaching to the latest presenter, it has been reiterated for several times about the Requested Changes. Changes. As a saying may say that “The only thing constant in this world is change.” Changes happen just like a cycle and we could not do anything about it but to ride it on and see the bright of things in every change. But, as we all be reminded that we are measuring all possible achievements that a certain project may come up.

This day is a lucky and blessed day. Unlike the experience of our classmates last year, we had search for a Small Medium Enterprise in just two hours. Even before we took our lunch, we had a wonderful yes and a big big help from an SME that we are to adapt a project. Considering this Small Medium Enterprise, which offers a good and quality service of architectural design, to have changes requested from stakeholders is to be well thought-out. It is a real project to be implemented with a real change.

Such an important and significant project like this should be taken cared of and should always be eyed on tracked. Therefore, Project Management is indeed a best way of implementing changes in projects. I or rather we should say that it is the best since it has different templates for a project to be used in implementing and in doing the whole project. From Scope Definition, Time Management, Cost Management, Quality Management, Human resource, Risk and Procurement Management, I supposed that in each of these templates there are some sorts of changes that are requested and are to be request by the stakeholders. In other words while the project is not yet completed it will continually and gradually grows. Everyday it could be the project director or it could either be one of the members of the team that could think of the alteration that should be done in the project.

Aside from the fact that it is termed as project management, I could also say that it really has the qualities for the best implementation of changes. It follows protocols and conditions for it to be effective and valuable to the success of the project. In some researched, I tried to find significant keywords for these qualities. First is, Project Management as being organized. In any form of project being organized is needed certainly because it has to follow the break down of different task. In fact some of its scheduled task would not be realized if the task prior to it is not completed thus saying that the succession of the job should be well maintained and preserved. Even though we are taught to be dynamic (since as an individual that holds the greatness of the future), we could not loose ourselves from being structured but I tell that it is with a twist. In the previous paragraph, it had been mentioned that a project is prone to changes so, I should say that as a Project Manager, we can be efficient and valuable if we organized a structure that is also capable of changing. If the era could change, then why can’t we jived and go with the changes that the era has been producing? In this manner, we can maintain a direct proportional relationship with time. Again, let us organized with a twist and may I say that this twist could also include a thoughtful and with a sensitive planning. It should be, because we care.

Another thing that a makes Project management reliable when we talk about change is that, project management always and will always conduct implementation and consultation for every change request and for every granted change request. This could be observed in any some other way but just like any other else, in every change verification always follow in project management making it credible and reliable. Saying and writing it confidently, I can assure that one of the major things that makes project management the best in implementing changes is that it is precise and realistic. Alteration may be done but not with the data that are used and are to be used. In this case, if ever the change request may just lead to nothing and accomplish nothing. So sad, so simple yet true.

But, the next good thing is that with the use of project management, the change that is being requested is achievable and measurable. It is measurable in the sense that it does not need to pretend that we can do this and that even though we can’t. Two is better than one. In a world where everything changes, I believe that one thing is in its best if it has several options of talents and ideas to present and battle with the others. Now, in this era where human minds are keep on competing among the other existing brilliant minds, to have a critical and logical thinking is an advantage. Before, those producers and we as consumers are contented and satisfied to the kind of living that we had. As time passes by, everything just seem to change and that is because of  the new trends and opportunities that has given to us by the union of technology and business. Maybe now and I believe until the succeeding days, everything will just seem to change for the development and advancement of our own living. Man can not stop from thinking. Everyday we used to think and create new forms of idea that could either be helpful or not, creative of destructive, negative or positive. In any way around, I always instill it to the way I think that in everything that we do, part of it will always be subjected to its own consequences. Let me share a thought and I learned it while still in my freshman year in high school. We have freedom. We have a choice. We have an option to choose. But included with this and will always be connected to it is the responsibility that we should carry after having a choice. For me it is such a sad fact to now that whenever we have to take decision, there would be many people that would offer their influences. So aggressive and arrogant others may be, but whenever the option has been made and that you have to carry the burden of making that choice there would be no one left. I know that it really relies and depends if a certain individual would have been affected or not. Again, this is just a shared thought from me. It is a sad fact that I will forever hate knowing that we have to survive until reaching the limit. Now, back on our “real” thing, let us talk more about the qualities of convergence.

 

 

 

Convergence as an opportunity

 

We had clearly discussed it for a couple of days now about the word “technopreneurship”. It is a compound word which may be defined and describe as a powerful tool to move forward. It is where technology meets business. It is where they both live together and creates million of Small Medium Enterprises which also has mounted the number of works and employment reaching to the happiness and joy of each individual.

“Technopreneurship”. I supposed that every time I’ve got to write an essay and answer a question this word would never be eradicated. Sometimes it makes me feel irritated whenever its being reiterated on and in again. But, what more else can I do? It is the same word and the same thing that makes up the totality of convergence. Whether I would be again irritated or not Technopreneurship will always bring a lifetime changes for each of our future’s advancement.

Advancement, this is I guess the word that best fit opportunity. Since we already engaged ourselves in technology we have lots of opportunities in making new way for our advancement. Technology is already existing, that is why what we we can do now is to continue some sort of research and discover new things and inventions. Of course we are not living in the past but rather building a new life for the future thereby stating that we have countless chances and opportunities of discovering several things. I believe that it is not only Bill Gates, it’s not only Steve Jobs and it is not even Guy Kawasaki that would be able to find new discoveries. Sooner or later these persons will pass and eventually leave everything to us, the future generation. But as what our mentors and the people like those that I had mention, they, I, or we should believe that we can do more than them We have better ideas, better innovation and better inventions. We in our own capabilities and potentials can replace them a hundred or even a thousand folds. It could have been one of my classmates, one of the people whom I just got acquainted with, the by passers or even ME (Laugh out loud). Well I am just trying to impose it to myself. There is no harm in trying anyway J yes, talking about it seriously we never know. Miracles happen. Opportunities come not just only for those who wear a coat and a tie and formal dresses. In my own understanding and belief, success is not for those who are already elite. For me we are all destined to be successful. I believe that those people such as those I had mentioned (Just like Bill Gates) started from scratch. Just like me or any other aspiring excellent technopreneur, we could also start from scratch and be successful.

As I was saying, there had been a lot of opportunities that this convergence had produced and will always be producing. Opportunity is juts there. Just like the technology, it already exists. We just have to dig on it more deeper then we can find its door for and open for a brand new beginning. No matter how hard we lose its still and will always be ok as long as we are willing to open doors of opportunity. I know, we would never run out of it. Grab it and start. I could have just imagined how plenty our opportunities are. If we are just to think that in a single business enterprise, there had been a lot of works and labors that had been made. What more if it is being associated with technology, right? But sad to note that some of them are those that we used while others are being wasted and juts got into the trash.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Convergence as an trend

 

            For several years now, there had been a lot of inventions that and discoveries that that had been used and maximized by all or most of us. Innovations may always come and go and just continue to change. An example of which is the development of cellular phones. Before we have big, enormous and gigantic (for exaggeration purposes) devices for communication as well as the different machineries that is being used before. I could still remember that I was in grade five or grade six where I first experience having a cellular phone and it’s not mine. Before I am very much fascinated whenever we play some of its featured games and an example of which is the never ending “snake”. I just loved to play and play it for fun of course and for killing the time. Those reasons where just only good before but I guess now, its for nothing since even children aging from six years old onwards demands for a more challenging and playful game. A simple 2D animation with a not so exciting flash game would not satisfy and quench the interest of the wildest consumer.

 

Days and years had pass and now what we have is more and is very much innovated compared to the old times, When we talk about cellular phones, what we had before are games, SMS and a call service. But, what do we have now? Today, there exist several types of cell phones. Some of them are even named after some foods such as “ice cream and chocolate”. A simple SMS and call service before is replaced and is now almost a complete package for a single user. Now, we will not have a hard time in pushing all the key pads until it hurts. Thanks for the new trend now in iPod which offers multi touch and other amazing features. Not just only this device but as well as other devices. They all offer convenience for the consumer in away that it is lighter, smaller and bears more color.This what we have now, very much contrasting to what it is before. But even though we may think that what they had before I somehow know that it helped them but as easy as what we avail today. Just like any trend, any form of technology will have its death and ending. I could also have also related it to a social network site like twitter. Several topics are discussed but in the end  a trending topic will remain depending on the amount of users who participated in the discussion. The more tweets about the topic the stronger its survivability will be. Just like in technology or any form of venture associated with the advancement of technology, the duration of its existence will vary in relation to its consumer. The kind of trend that a certain company holds will surely depend on demands most especially to kind of living that we have now.

The emergence of one idea may lead to the existence of another. If one technopreneur had been generating then it might be that there would be another brain that will also generate another idea. It might be better or not. But there is just one thing that’s for sure, every idea, no matter how brilliant it may be but if in case that it does not satisfy the trend which demands the consumer, and then it will be less effective and efficient. Thus we can say that its survivability on the battle of technopreneurship is just short and limited. As the may ask, “ano ba ang uso?” I personally if given a chance to be a provider of idea and to generate trending topic I would make sure that it will fit well to the kind of industry I am in and to which field will I go. In this case we as a future technopreneur that will hold the future of the next generation should and must consider logical ideas. Now to end this let us all remember that to keep an idea on trend is to keep ourselves updated with the present technologies and inventions, to jump up the curve and to what is usual, to dare to take a move and make a difference and lastly is to defy for the a single norm for advancement.

 

 

 

Convergence as a challenge

 

 

Being united is not that easy. Again having this step is a risk to consider and I pretty well know that it will not happen as fast as the blink of an eye. I suppose that there are still several things to consider and that includes the responsibilities that lies with in. Aside that convergence is highly defined as an opportunity and as trend, much more than it, convergence is to be considered as a challenge to conquer. It is much as the other two definitions since it all comprises its totality. If in the very first place we would not consider it as a challenge to take, we will never experience it as an opportunity and as a trend to jump off. To converge and to unite with another business idea is vulnerable to any form of alteration which includes plans. This is why convergence is labeled as a challenge since it does not only talks on the technicality of the business but as well as in making and doing a good relationship to the people whom you or we are to work with. What I am trying to point here is that our ability to settle situation and manage our emotion is again included in making our own convergence in each of our life. Again better than any other else, convergence is to be conquered. But even if it happens for this or not, what we can do is just simply be strong and accept the things that a single or multiple convergences may cause. All of these things may come true if we choose to pursue it.

Make Meanings

“Make Meaning” 

            It might sound to be confusing and obscure but the question is, have you ever gone dreaming? Yes, of course all of us had gone through this very exciting, thrilling, electrifying, weird an awesome event or feeling that every man can experience. I found it funny and cute knowing that there are some people who really wanted to sleep and is very much agitated to take a sleep because of their dream. He or she can no longer hold the feeling of excitement (just for exaggeration!)And even when he or she wakes up, he or she would tell it to us immediately. Yeah, just like a kid, people ages like me still have this kind of feeling when we are about to sleep. But, the variation comes like this. Yes, mature or older individual still have a dream however there are differences that come across all of this and it is the criteria or the category in which our dream falls. Kids may have it happy and exciting and magical but for us, it is on the other way round. For me it is more mature, realistic, the things that we hope for or even the things that might ruin your whole night sleep. I could still remember that in our psychology class, we were taught of why human beings dream. But sad to say, I can no longer share the reason why (Ugh, so sad L ). All I can say is that as far as I could remember, most our dreams are those things that we usually think, those that we want to happen or those things that we are craving to have and is always wanted. What now for those people who usually dreams about reaching out, for those who dream about helping those who are in need? These are all examples of a dream for most mature people. I should say that it is better than those who dream about useless and nonsense things such as the ability to have a power and those magical stuffs. I believe that it is only good for children both in physical and in mind but for those who are only young at heart, I guess it is not a good idea.

Now on the other hand let us talk the mature like stuff. By this time let me ask you a question. How does it feel to be like alone, to live without a dream, to live with out goals or shall we generally say, to live with out LIVING? What I mean here is that living without a purpose and with out meaning. I believe that it depends on how we see life and on how we perceive our future. Good for those who dream and see life as a purpose to be pursued but unfortunate for those who see it as a saddle and a burden to carry. I guess in every 10 active individuals, there are at least 3 of which has the same kind of situation. They wake up, eat, doing nothing but ending up exhausted then sleep. I personally is a very big dreamer. I mean, I dream a lot for me and for my family. I always thought of becoming who I want to be and to live my life with a purpose and a whole lot more of experience. Just as I thought that there exist a kind of person whose so naïve, and is not fund of thinking about the future and plan for the best. Actually, in my whole life, I admit that I got lags in helping to make meaning with my family.

            I believe that we live not for ourselves rather, we live for others. In this way, it is assumed that we have the responsibility among the people and that includes everyone we get acquainted with. It includes your family, you friend, your boss, your neighbor, your crush, your enemy, your love one or me. It incorporates all sort of people that may also help you in any other way you or shall I say we ourselves can benefit. WE already know that we are living in earth and in science; we can relate it to a simple ecosystem with a symbiotic relationship. “No man is an island” and so therefore man can’t live with out the other. In this way, technopreneurship holds fast the service that a single individual can offer and that is the best of the best.

In one of our elective classes, it is being stressed out that we can no longer invent technology; we can never invent another thing such as technology since it is already existing. In fact we are enjoying it already nowadays. But, what we can do especially in our generation which is the generation X, we can innovate and continue to innovate for a better and better development of a single and complex technology that we can achieve. True indeed! Technology is there already and we have nothing to do with it. Let us just leave it as simple as that but let us not stop on developing and mounting its rise. Now, through this advantage and versatility, it is not that impossible to share it with others and make our responsibility among other people possible. In this way we can help for the benefit of the community as well as for the good of the people who are employed. Just like the video presentation that we viewed, I now suppose and believe that everything is not about money and money can’t do everything. Each has its own frontier to move on and surpass. I just had a thought that what if you already had the best business, the best management and the best services. If a business fails, we often blame it to the kind of management the company or the business had experience. Now again, shall we talk about what is management. From the word itself, it refers to the word managing, a process of doing something to be able to attain the thing that you are wanting and I believe that it is to be done through a rigid form organizing a multiple and a series of plans. Management could also be said that it is being directed by a manager that makes everything possible for a project to work and succeed. In management I can also say that there are a lot of hard works and labors that lies along with it. When we say management, it is a general term used in every business and is indeed vital for its growth and development. We already had a review about what management is, now let me continue my sharing. Again, in that case, what if it is added with an affordable price and everything is of good quality. But what if even though you almost have al of this things but the users or the consumer could not be able to handle it and does not have the enough amount of money so to be able to acquire that services. Well, I guess it would really be a waste and a trash.

This thing that I am saying and sharing is all about us in helping our community to have its very own benefit when we are to put up a business. It might be that even if we have the consumer and yet they could not visit the business due to some sort of uncertainties. It might be an accident, an unexpected happening or many other else. That is also I thank Guy Kawasaki for remembering me that in order for us to serve others and help them, what we can do first as a technopreneur is to make our living as easy and as accessible as it could. I can still remember his face the very moment he uttered the words on how to help out others and that is to lessen the burden and eradicate those things that makes every people suffer and that is through the phrase, “Make a wrong right or Right a wrong”. Glad as I was, it made me realize that it could not only help those people whom we intend to help but as well as in developing a good, effective and efficient entrepreneur. In this way, the businesses will be patronized by many and for that each person involved in the process both benefited. (Walang lugi!). It should not be mistaken that in life whether we like it or not we both live in an ecosystem where we should all exert our efforts for us to live and survive.

Now, shall we all talk about it generally?

“Make Meaning” For me it is how you understand it. This is such a broad topic to discuss and I think that it comprises the totality of how you consider and accept your life and the changes that is happening to it. At present, I am really moved by what Guy Kawasaki shared to young adults like me. He made us think for a better way of putting p a business and he also teaches us that business is not all about money. Honestly, I am  very happy to know that successful people like him have the heart to help and is concern basically for others welfare not just only for him. It is of this appreciation that I felt since, for the previous documentaries and videos that I had seen, it is just only few who initiated a business out of this manly act. As I could remember, most of those successful individuals who succeed in the field of technopreneur is motivated to develop a business out of their own love, of their own interest and others even had it out of competing others just to show it the world that he is greater than the other. Thus, it all ended up futile and the business that they have is futile and only benefits for individuals like them who just wanted to show off and let everyone knows that I am like this and that because I have this and all of that. It is never my intension here to hurt or criticize and neither to accuse others. I know for the fact that business man our good and they only want the best for the people they are serving. It just only for a fact that somehow in some other people in which they render their service, they created a certain feeling where they let those who does not know or buy the service or product that they are elite and of high class. Money is not about everything and again everything is not about money. I don’t know why I am saying this but it is for reality and it hurts to see this fact. I may sound to be ironic but also because of the advancement of technology, the gap between people grows wider and wider. For now, what builds up my mind is the plan to have and formulate that technology to help everyone be united and to be as one. No more boundaries. No more walls. Yes, I know that you can feel it somehow. This sharing of mine is true and it is really want I wanted. This is the meaning that I wanted to put up if I am to be that great entrepreneur someday. I know and I feel that I can contribute to the community by having it. For me, this is the wrong thing that I am seeing. With no harm intension, this is the sore in my eyes that impairs the totality of the whole human system and for that I wanted to make it right. This is what I love, the unity and oneness of every mankind (corny!). This is what I love. This is the way I think I can help the community. This is my way of making a wrong right. This is the way where I can have a purpose and have my own meaning. GOD BLESSES US ALL J

Define Project, Management and Project management.

            Even from the very first day of school our instructor never fails to give us a very heat whelming activity. At the very moment of our first meeting, he instructed us to wite everything we know about project, management and project management. Just as I thought that this class would be different compared to the things that we were doing in our other class with him. But then again it turned out to be wrong. As fast as we could, we define those three familiar terms and we did that as far as our knowledge could bring us. I am afraid but I hope that I did write something that is worth to be appreciated. The following statements were some of my answers.

Project

            It is a proposal, a venture or a task with a given goal of interest. In most cases I usually hear the word project if it is to be done with due amount of time and is bounded by a certain date of deadline. In students like us, project would be clearly defined as an assignment required for us to comply so as being able to pass a certain projects. But I pretty well guess that in real life scenario, what is being termed as project referred to a

vast form of task that needs a high form of processes and procedure. For me it might fall on different categories depending unto which kind of field does a single person works. For me, project is also comprised with very a significant plan for it to be realized and achieve its desired goal of interest.

Management

            From the word itself, it refers to the word managing, a process of doing something  to be able to attain the thing that you are wanting and I believe that it is to be done through a rigid form organizing a multiple and a series of plans. Management could also be said that it is being directed by a manager that makes everything possible for a project to work and succeed. In management I can also say that there are a lot of hard works and labors that lies along with it. When we say management, it is a general term used in every business and is indeed vital for its growth and development.

Project Management

            The above definition is a lot more general and hits almost all form of managerial thing. But, again as part of my assumption, the above term refers more clearly to an exact form of managing a single project. This compound word is a way match in managing a venture that is more technical than any other form of managing is. I should say that based on my own experience that I was once mislead by our own interpretation of managing a project.  In that case, we fail since we did not know exactly what a real and effective management of project that we should take.

Those words that were mentioned were a lot more familiar not just to me but  I pretty well guess that its common to all of us. As I again read and go over my answers, I can say that it was all basing on my experiences, and personal under takings. Especially when we are to talk about project, it is very much personal to me since I had been with this word for a long span of time or shall I say since I started to let myself in learning and trying new things. But I believe that what I had before is just a crumb of bread compared to what a real project is. But of course as we all know that a certain project that may fall to an individual may depend depending on his or her own capabilities and of his or her own level.

Now during the first day of discussion, there had been a lot of things that were introduced and was given emphasis and by this  time, we had a clearer view of our topic since we had it ourselves our guide to Project management, the PM Book.

            It may sound distracting but then again I wanted to ask what is a Project. According the the PM Book, Project is a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product, service or result. Before knowing it, we had a simple discussion between us of what is the exact and simple answer, yet no one  has ever mention the exact word temporary. It is temporary since every project has a definite beginning and definite end. It is temporary since a project follows a step by step and never ending procedure and never stops until it reaches the peak of its own goal and mission. The PM book also stresses out that although defined as temporary, project  may not be generally be applied to a service or result, that aside from it it may also end up to the lasting outcomes of the project.

As defined by the book, project management can be summarized in an abbreviation like PDOC. It means planning, directing, organizing, and control. The first one is planning. I believe that of how will you progress will greatly depends on how you plan. It depends on you plan before the project, during and while making the entire project and after the project is to be done. An example of it was when we had our project in one of our subject last semester. It was for our finals grade so it is assumed that all of us would clearly do our best efforts for us to pass the course. I admit that I fail, that we fail. But we fail not because we had a failing grade nor because of the teacher neither because of time pressure. But we fail because we failed to plan. We know our goal and we know what the supposed outcome is but we forgot to plan in order to achiebe this goal. I believe that if we only had the idea and the thought  but could never be able to plan and work it out, it will all be useless, futile and dull. Just like what we accidentally did. (laugh out loud J). The next terminology discussed was directing which is synonymous to guiding which is also connected to leading. It sound and feels so awkward for me but, I guess that the reason why we had a failure in managing our project was that no one has ever lead us. I just wanna share a thought and I guess that this really sounds awkward but on what I can deduced from what happened to us was that we got a strange feeling with regards on who’s gonna lead since we were once a  “leader”. Now I know that what happened to us was that we both rely on each others presence ending up that there’s no work that was being done. And on my personal attacked, I also got an uncomfortable feeling knowing that the people around me were much more knowledgeable about the project. But I should say that although surrounded by this people I believe that we are competent with the project. Its just that we failed to plan and no one has ever lead us. The third and second to the last is organizing. I also believe that if this element would be eliminated and false to practice it, that certain project that an individual is pursuing might not work. Of course, if not organized, the ideas would be shattered thus ending up with a not valuable result. When we say organize, it also says that we need to mage everything in its best and paramount degree. That is the case if we wanted to obtain the best of the best. The last terminology deals and talks about control. Control. When we say you have the control on this and on that, for me it only means that you have the power over this and over that. With the power that is in control we have the chance to manage and be in charge of the project in which entrusted to us. Through this last element, I could see evidently that possible flow of progress in developing that certain project.

But, as we go on our discussion, the debate with regards to the difference between management and leadership arose. What is management and what is leadership. How do they differ and what is there usage. First let us clearly define and now more about management. We had discussed it from the previous days that management is related to some sorts of control is an individuals’ free will or unto his own interest. In management, it has the control and the power. Now, for the case of leadership, the stand goes like this. Inclined to leadership is directing and guiding. I supposed that from this definition alone we can all understand the real and defined difference among the two words. I could still remember that  before we continue the discussion, he or shall I say the facilitator let us to examine if whether we are being managed by him and by any other teachers or lead by them or him alone. When we had that particular discussion, my hands really felt itchy and I wanted to ask of how can we lead with out managing since I could really feel the degree of its difficultness when it comes to practicing. Its is very much hard to control and limit ones self. Alas! I got the answer, and that is through guiding. When we guide, we need not to control and we need not to demand. When we lead we would just be light and influential so as to let them to follow us and not tell and force them to follow us. I believe that by that, it would be rigid and harsh.

PM Book has been a helpful tool in developing and helping a beginner like me to understand project management. It had been starting to help me for now, much more I believe that it greatly affects the management world in the real life’s arena. Now, I hope that as we continue our journey in getting to know more about project management, we can build a good business and succeed in our life.
