1.       What are the factors that contributed to the success and failure of Steve Jobs as a technopreneur?

He has changed millions of lives by making technology easy to use, exciting and creatively beautiful. That is, Steve Paul Jobs, which is undeniably an extra-ordinary man by any standards. Would anybody dare to ask why? Well, dare not!

                Apple II, Macintosh, music with Ipod and iTunes, phone with iPhone and animation with Pixar. These are all justifications of the above description of “extra ordinary” man of any standards. Being this great technopreneur is definitely not easy and would exactly have its quality and characteristics of he was able to come up and end up of becoming a successful technopreneur in the business of electronic devices.

                Steven Paul Jobs, born on San Francisco, California on February 24,1955 in a valley that was already turning into a world center of technology which is the Silicon valley. From this environment, Steve got an interest into these devices thus finding himself likening and developing his own personal computer. From the act of being interested, this character had lead him to love and never fall out of enthusiasm from learning and progressing  more and more. In a business of technopreneur , nothing is constant but change. Technologies revolved and would for ever grow up and continue to grow. Having this quality, the characteristics of being interested had probably continued to fuel him up to be able to pursue his interest even after he was fired in his own company and waited for a decade to be able to get back again.

                If we never fall out of interest we would never ask for more and have that free will of indulging ourselves for the betterment of what we do. This trait is indeed a very much vital role in rising up a business orbiting in the axis of technology.

                To be able to obtain success, it is not consisted of a single factor. It is being associated with many other substances that will enhanced and produce betterment in a business venture.

                During the time of Steve Jobs and his friend Woz, they were able to acquire the idea of having or making a computer design that was just consisted only on a certain circuit board at a time. This was made by a computer club. When he was able to observe and noticed that several people were interested from this brilliant work, he got an idea and suggested to sell the board to them. Now, that is another factor that contributed a lot to his success, his ability of being a keen observant, futuristic and sensitive of knowing the interest of the possible stake holders.

                When we observe, we know the things that are happening. When we watch we can figure out of what was happening, of what was in the trend, and of what affects a lot. Referring it to Steve Jobs, when he knew that the device would have it future importance by just merely adjusting to people’s mood of usage, he then formalized or shall we say formatted a good plan that will surely spark and spread into thr market widely and fast. Ina venture of technology, being such an observant and sensitive to the need that a technopreneur is basing a product since it is them who will consume it. His cleverness made it all and had surely addressed the need of the customers.

                As I continue to watch the film, I had come to realize that Steve Jobs is so persistent in making his computer. He never stops until he is done. He continues to persist on something. He is persistent to his work and persistent on the quality of the product. He does not compromises the quality of the product and that is very much loved by the customer.

                For all of this, we can say that his interest or love and passion for his work, pursuant, persistence in acquiring a good quality product and had set a good high standard had brought him at the peek of his success.

                We never can tell. As stated a while ago, nothing is constant in this world but change. We may be on our happiest time or moment for today but could either not for tomorrow or vice versa. Just like ant other person, Steve Paul Jobs had also his downfall. Shall we say that “too much of everything is not good”. This includes some of the characteristics and traits obtained by Steve Jobs.

                From his being persistent and pursuant, he became low tempered And panicky when ever something does not fir to all his plans and there are flaws. Nothing is perfect. That is why this character had eventually affected the relationship of Steve Jobs towards his co=workers. When one losses temper, everything will heat up and might step off and might hit things and quarrels that are below the belt. When he panics and get paranoid, it somehow affects his mind set ending up in a shuttered mind. No plans. No mission. No goals. An example of this was  their project named Lisa. By the time that Steve Jobs was deeply angry and destructed, he was soon thrown out of their project because he was considered too high tempered.

                All bad things may end up into failure. From being low high tempered and panicky, revenge also took the factor that causes the failure of Steve. Let me have a snippet of it. “Steve got revenge from pulling him on the Lisa project by taking over a small project called Macintosh. From this, he is determined to make it a computer that would cannibalize the sales of Lisa”.

                His being high tempered and arrogance got him with no managerial duties or what so ever. The thing that was remained to him was being the chairman of the board.

                Shocking as it was, Steve was stunned. Well, I can not say that it is unfair. Steve considered apple as his life then all of the sudden he was kicked out. For me, there’s nothing controversial about it.

                We can say that Steve has the mind, has the knowledge and the strategy. In a world where a technology is fastly changing, everything appears to be different that could either fall to two different things. It could be for the better or for the worst. But, let us all remember that our brains although how genius and smart it is, still it is of no use and significance if even zombies could not eat and swallow it.

2.       How do you see yourself as a technopreneur?

Technopreneurship is a compound word that comprises a lot of meaning and definitely of immeasurable worth. Nowadays we are already living in an era of technology, a year and century of innovations. Now, this advancement in technology could be use in reaching and attaining the most effective alternative mind set an individual should have. That is why, in the case of imagining ourselves at the peek of the mountain of success.

                Now,  for it’s complete understanding, lt us all define first the most concrete meaning of what technopreneurship is. For this fact, I maybe able to know if I could be an entrepreneur in the field of technology and most especially for me to be able to know what my real score is.

                I would honesly say that imagining myself as a technopreneur is difficult. Even if I am not to talk about technology, entrepreneurship alone does not reflect me. Although my family is having a small venture about business, still I could not have an insight of it since I did not allow myself of getting involved and connected with it.

                It is just now, that I realized that in being an entrepreneur could lead us to success and wellness of life. Much as technopreneurship will serve us and eventually could offer us.

                There had been a lot of people that had said that there’s no simple employee that had become rich, no not one specially working on a civil government. I could attest to that truth since I am living with both of my parents employed paid by the government. Yes, they are employed. They follow protocol from companies and do what is used and already had that mind set.

                I could still remember, it was my geometry teacher during my third year in high school that I first heard the very challenging statement that I am digesting right now. He said , “Pang eskwela mo dli para mag-trabaho kung dili para mahimong boss.” I admit it, that before I was thinking that it’s just a though coming from nowhere.  I thought that he was not just satisfied to what he is receiving from his job. That is why I just laughed at it and said that it will never be my mind set.  Although he was a great teacher I thought I would have, that was the moment I disagreed on him and split my idea.

                It might be an accident, or destiny maybe that during my third year also but now in college, I hear it again with another great and amazing instructor. History repeats itself. This is all what I had and realized the importance of yesterday. During the early days of June 2010, that majestic sentence was again brought into my face. An alternative and the best mind set I knew I will ever have. He said, “Strive not just to be a employee but rather to become an employer. ” This was the very big challenge that I have to consider since I am now wise enough in understanding life’s real scenario. It is the great challenge to consider since I get myself inclined with the more possibility of becoming an employer.

                Now, seeing myself as an employer. I know and claim that it would be by any mewans of becoming a technopreneur. How do I see myself as a technopreneur? When I was still  on my early teen age days, I dreamt of becoming a woman in business formal attire, heading my way for a business meeting for I am to present an innovated technology design or product. Yes, that’s what I am looking forward for  ten years from now, hopefully. I am thinking of somehow similar to what would Steve Jobs and Bill gates engaged in, a world of technology, a world of changes, a world of development and a world innovation. I know that this world might be different but it got a lot of chances. If we can’t do it that way, then do it on the other way in which we can implement as much as they could. That is why technology as a business venture offers each aspirant of becoming a technopreneur of bigger chances.

                I also include it to myself of becoming a technopreneur the creative way of utilizing technology and this is through the magic of graphics. I myself could evaluate to what my capabilities are and into what field I am good at and I can say that my contribution could in graphics designing and of how well can I be able to present it to all of the clients. I know that it is possible since there is a growing number of consumers and recepients of any technology products.

                Seeing my self as a technopreneur seems to be so heartwhelming and gratifying. How I wish that I can reavh this stars and would reall own my company and further help others by producing jobs.  

             

                Being a technopreneur  is not that easy. It takes a lot of factors to be considered before arriving into its highest point of achievement. We loose some. We win some. Life is just about acceptace. If ever a program does not work and function as much as we expected, as a technopreneur we may expect something good for it’s alternative.  We may still rise up and continue. Persistent. Committed. Interested and devoted, this is all what a real technopreneur should contain sore or she may soar in the field of a revolving business in technology.
